StudySnap Privacy Policy

StudySnap (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a flashcard study app for Android and the web. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use StudySnap, we may collect:

• Account information. If you sign in with Google or email, we receive your name, email address, and (for Google) profile photo. If you continue as a guest, Firebase creates an anonymous account ID.
• Study content you create. Topics, notes, flashcards, starred cards, quiz scores, and study streaks you generate or save.
• Device and usage data. App version, basic device/browser information, and usage events used to understand crashes and how the app is used. This may include Firebase Analytics / Google Analytics.
• Local device data. Decks and progress are stored on your device (for example in local storage) so the app works offline.

We do not collect payment card numbers, precise location, contacts, photos from your camera roll, SMS, call logs, or microphone recordings.

2. How we use information

• Create and keep your account signed in
• Save and show your flashcards, streaks, and quiz results
• Improve the app and fix problems
• Understand which features people use

We do not sell your personal information.

3. How we store and share information

Sign-in and analytics are provided by Google Firebase (Google LLC). Your account data is processed by Firebase Authentication. Usage analytics, if enabled, are processed by Google Analytics for Firebase.

Study decks and progress are stored on your device. They are not uploaded to a StudySnap server. If you uninstall the app or clear app data, that local content may be deleted.

We share information only with service providers needed to run the app (currently Google/Firebase), if required by law, or to protect users and the app.

4. Sign-in options

• Google: uses your Google account. You can revoke access in your Google account settings.
• Email: uses the email and password you enter.
• Guest: uses an anonymous ID. Guest progress stays on this device and may be lost if you sign out or clear data.

5. Data retention

Account data is kept while your account exists. Local study data stays on your device until you delete it, uninstall the app, or clear storage. Analytics data is kept according to Google Firebase’s retention settings.

6. Your choices

• You can use StudySnap as a guest without creating a named account.
• You can sign out at any time.
• You can delete the app and its local data from your device.
• To request deletion of your Firebase account data, email the developer using the contact details on the StudySnap Google Play listing.

7. Children

StudySnap is a general learning app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International processing

Firebase and Google may process data in the United States and other countries. If you use StudySnap from Australia or elsewhere, your information may be transferred to those locations.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
